It was a good start for the Packers starters on Saturday against the Redskins.
Aaron Rodgers led a touchdown drive on his first drive of the 2017 season, ending with a three-yard touchdown to newcomer Martellus Bennett. It was a nice glimpse at the problems the Packers can cause with two versatile tight ends in the redzone. (Check out the video of Bennett’s score NFL.com)
Perhaps more encouraging was the performance of the defense. They were put into a couple tough situations, but the Packers defense held the Redskins out of the end zone until the final possession of the first half. A good sign for a unit that gave up 42 points in Washington last November.
