Packers wide receiver Geronimo Allison has been suspended for the first game of the 2017 NFL season, the team announced Wednesday. (Read the full story at 247 Sports)
The reason for the suspension is Allison was arrested back in September for possession of marijuana after being pulled over for speeding on I-43. He settled the charge back in April.
Allison started last season on the practice squad, but was promoted to the 53-man roster in October. Allison will be eligible to return to the team Monday, September, 11 — the day after the Packers open up the season at Lambeau Field against Seattle.
