Packers counting on revamped cornerback position

No position group has undergone as much of a makeover as the Green Bay Packers’ cornerback room.

After trading starter Damarious Randall to the Cleveland Browns, the Packers brought back veteran Tramon Williams, then spent their top two picks on Louisville’s Jaire Alexander and Iowa’s Josh Jackson.

Last season, opposing quarterbacks posted a combined passer rating of 102.0 against the Packers — second-worst in the NFL behind only the Cleveland Browns. They also allowed the second-most touchdowns (30) which is fewer than only the New York Giants.

Clearly, the Packers felt the need to overhaul the secondary.
