What a weekend in the world of sports.
The Good News: The Milwaukee Brewers got their 2018 season started in fine fashion, as they swept the San Diego Padres. The most dramatic came came Friday night on their five-run ninth inning, capped by Ryan Braun’s go-ahead three-run home run. Also, offseason acquisitions Lorenzo Cain and Christian Yelich have combined for 15 hits in 28 total at-bats. (Not bad.)
The Bad News: The Milwaukee Bucks looked like they were going to complete their West Coast road trip at 3-1 as they were in control of Sunday’s game in Denver. However, they gave the game away in unbelievable fashion, as Khris Middleton threw away the in-bounds pass with a three-point lead and four seconds remaining. To make matters worse, Jason Terry fouled Jamal Murray on a three-point attempt. The game went to overtime, and the Bucks lost 128-125. (Oh — by the way — Giannis fouled out in the fourth quarter, and was ejected for getting hit with two technical fouls.)
The Basketball: Tonight’s men’s National Championship will feature Villanova vs. Michigan. (Don’t forget: If you had/have a team for March Chaos, you must be present at the party to claim your prizes!)
(More) Basketball: Arike Ogumbowale had a three-day stretch that will probably never be matched again. On Friday, she hit the buzzer-beater to beat UConn and get Notre Dame to the women’s National Championship. On Sunday, she hit the buzzer-beater to beat Mississippi State to win the National Championship. (Arike’s big brother Dare was a running back for the Wisconsin Badgers.)
Got all that?
