John Dorsey out as Chiefs GM

In stunning news Thursday afternoon, the Chiefs have parted ways with general manager John Dorsey. (Read all about it at ProFootballTalk.com)

Earlier in the day, the Chiefs extended the contract of head coach Andy Reid. The timing is interesting — to say the least.

Dorsey, of course, recently released wide receiver Jeremy Maclin, who ultimately signed with the Baltimore Ravens. (And played under Reid in Philadelphia, too.)

Dorsey started as a scout with the Green Bay Packers in 1991, and remained in Green Bay until 2012. He was named general manager of the Chiefs on January 14, 2013.
