Kevin King: Packers top pick has arrived

Kevin King was the top pick in the Packers’ 2017 draft class. After trading out of the bottom of round one, King was the first pick of the second round.

He took part in Rookie Orientation with the rest of the draft class; however, due to an NFL rule, King was held out of organized team activities. Today he was allowed to rejoin the team. In fact, he wasn’t even at the University of Washington, despite being kept away from his teammates.

“I actually wasn’t in school,” King said. “I was actually back home in Oakland, just working out and stuff … The rules just didn’t allow me to be here.”

Is it a bad rule?

“That’s above me,” King said. “I don’t even have a thought on that really. I just have to abide by it.”

King already sounds like a veteran.
